Institutional Research Analyst

About the role

The Institutional Research Analyst supports West Georgia Technical College by turning institutional data into actionable insights that guide strategic decisions, program evaluation, accreditation, and continuous improvement. This position blends social‑science research methods with higher‑education data to enhance student success and institutional effectiveness.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and analyze enrollment, retention, and program data from systems such as Banner.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, visualizations, and statistical reports for senior leadership.
• Investigate trends and causal relationships using quantitative and mixed‑methods research.
• Prepare reports that translate complex analyses into clear, context‑rich recommendations.
• Conduct environmental scans and labor‑market analyses to inform strategic planning.
• Respond to data requests and provide guidance on interpretation.

Required profile

• Degree in a social‑science, statistics, education research, or related field.
• Experience applying research principles to educational data and reporting findings to decision‑makers.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to synthesize large data sets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for presenting insights.

• Proficiency with the Banner enterprise system.
