Inside Sales / Customer Service Representative

About the role

MCCarty Equipment, a SunSource company, is a value-added distributor and fabricator of hose with 17 locations across North America, supplying hose, valves, gaskets, fittings and tools for industrial and MRO needs. The Inside Sales / Customer Service Representative maintains customer accounts, handles daily activities, resolves conflicts and ensures customer satisfaction. The position is onsite.

Key responsibilities

• Sell industrial hose, gasket and piping products and maintain customer accounts
• Take orders by phone and over the internet, and enter orders and product quotes into the computer system
• Prepare sales orders, emphasizing salable features, quoting prices and credit terms, and estimate delivery dates from production schedules and inventory
• Prepare transaction reports in the company database and work with account managers to keep account activity up to date
• Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries
• Research technical solutions with customers and interpret drawings, specifications, solid models and engineering data into assembly bills of materials, prices and quotes, then prepare fabrication drawings
• Set up component part numbers and assembly parts, enter orders, purchase components, create drawings and die files for all branches, and schedule projects with production
• Follow orders through to completion, solve problems along the way, and manage purchase orders, drawings, specifications and models

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or higher preferred
• Good working knowledge of engineering principles, solid modeling, welding and fabrication, and of industrial hose, gasket and piping products
• Able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
