Information Technology Intern - Summer 2027

About the role

Meijer is offering an 11-week summer 2027 internship program for Information Technology students. It covers five tracks: Digital Solutions and Applications Development, Enterprise Systems and Tools, IT Enterprise Architecture, and IT Operations and Infrastructure. Interns work on real projects that affect the business, interact with other interns and senior leaders, and present their final work to senior executives.

Key responsibilities

• Digital Solutions: design, code, test and ship applications for digital shopping, pharmacy, finance, merchandising, supply chain and store systems, and contribute to business analytics and reporting
• Enterprise Systems and Tools: configure, integrate and improve enterprise platforms such as the Human Capital Management system
• IT Enterprise Architecture: learn how technology decisions are made and sequenced across the company
• IT Operations and Infrastructure: work with cloud technologies, automation and machine learning for issue detection and self-healing

Required profile

• Progress toward a bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or a related field
• Customer-focused attitude and strong relationship-building skills
• Ability to explain technical work clearly, in writing and verbally, to non-technical audiences

Required skills

• Preferred: Microsoft technologies (Azure.NET/C#, SQL Server, Microsoft 365, SharePoint), Java, Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, REST and GraphQL, React/Angular/Vue, Agile and Scrum
• Preferred: Workday, SAP, ServiceNow, Terraform, PowerShell, SQL, Databricks, Power BI, and interest in AI/ML
• Preferred: distributed systems, network and cloud basics, infrastructure as code, and AIOps
