Information Systems Officer – Technical Engineer

About the role

The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund‑Pension Administration is seeking an Information Systems Officer with a technical engineering focus. Based in Manhattan, the role supports the Enterprise Applications Section, contributing to the design, development, and maintenance of moderately complex information systems that serve over 150,000 participants worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to projects involving feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development and implementation of new applications.
• Produce detailed system specifications, functional documentation and user guides for major systems.
• Analyse user requirements, advise on application integration, and resolve complex technical issues.
• Maintain, upgrade and enhance existing user systems, ensuring performance, security and effective transaction monitoring.
• Develop and maintain programs that integrate multiple inter‑related systems, applying appropriate data security and access controls.

Required profile

• Relevant technical engineering or information systems qualification.
• Experience managing or participating in the development of moderately complex IT projects.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate user needs into functional solutions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multicultural team.
