Industrial Ethernet Network Engineer

About the role

The Industrial Ethernet Network Engineer leads the design, implementation and standardisation of Industrial Ethernet systems for material handling. The role provides technical direction, thought leadership and education both within Dematic and to external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain North American networking standards and the Ethernet training programme (Hirschmann CT1‑CT2, CP1‑CP2).
• Develop and maintain Industrial Ethernet and fieldbus networking standards and lead cross‑functional networking teams.
• Provide network design assistance, reviews, validation and troubleshooting for project teams, incorporating cybersecurity.
• Travel up to 25% to project sites, customer meetings and pre‑sales activities.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience as an Industrial Ethernet Network Engineer or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Network Engineering preferred).
• Excellent communication, leadership and problem‑solving skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.

Required skills

• Industrial protocols: EtherNet/IP, CIP Safety, SafeLink, PROFINET, PROFIsafe; knowledge of Modbus TCP and EtherCAT.
• Advanced network design: NAT, VLANs, firewalls, subnetting, routing, switching, monitoring.
• Certifications: Hirschmann Industrial Network Professional, Cisco CCNA Industrial, Siemens Profinet Certified Engineer; TUV Rheinland Functional Safety is a plus.
• Experience with Allen‑Bradley and Siemens TIA PLCs.
