Industrial Engineer

About the role

Excelitas Technologies is seeking an Industrial Engineer to join its operations team in Boulder, CO. The role focuses on improving SAP ERP processes, optimizing facility layout, and driving efficiency across manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead facility layout planning, workstation optimization, and space management to maximize footprint efficiency and material flow.
• Develop, maintain, and validate site capacity models and cycle‑time standards to identify and eliminate bottlenecks.
• Provide data‑driven justifications, ROI calculations, and engineering support for CAPEX planning and equipment deployment.
• Own creation, maintenance, and audit of Bills of Materials (BOM) and routing data within SAP.
• Set up, configure, and maintain SAP Work Centers, ensuring accurate cost centers and scheduling parameters.
• Facilitate quarterly yield reviews, analyzing variances to drive process improvements.
• Drive system improvements for product lifecycle management and standard costing, using SAP and simulation data to forecast production impacts.
• Partner with Continuous Improvement teams to embed Lean methodologies into factory layouts and digital shop‑floor tools.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 4–6 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment handling both physical layouts and digital product data.
• Hands‑on experience with SAP, specifically BOM creation, routing management, and Work Center configuration.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or BIM software for space planning and facility layouts.
• Strong analytical capability in capacity modeling, time‑study methodologies, and statistical data analysis.
• Solid understanding of Lean manufacturing principles; Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is a strong advantage.
