Industrial Electro/Mechanical Technician

About the role

Leidos is seeking an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician for its Vista, CA facility, supporting the Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) Operations division. Leidos SES designs and manufactures detection technologies for aviation, border control, seaports and commercial environments, including body scanners, CT baggage scanners, explosive trace detection systems, radiation detectors, spectrometers and X-ray scanners. The technician supports the rapid manufacturing of sub-assemblies and finished systems, which may include cables, harnesses, panels, mechanical assemblies or large system builds, and also takes part in system troubleshooting and diagnostics.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot technical issues of varying complexity
• Read and interpret work instructions, drawings, schematics and other production documentation
• Solder wires, PCBA's and components
• Use hand tools, power tools and measuring instruments such as multimeters, continuity checkers and oscilloscopes
• Complete build records and documentation, and conduct quality checks on own work and buddy checks on others' work
• Maintain a clean workspace using 5S methods and follow manufacturing guidelines and regulatory compliance policies
• Take part in cross-training activities and provide assembly feedback and improvement suggestions

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or R&D
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional experience may substitute for education
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance (US citizenship required)
• Comfortable working at heights of 15+ feet and outdoors in varying weather
• Active driver's license
• Attention to detail, drive to finish work on time, integrity and strong interpersonal skills

Required skills

• Working knowledge of electrical theory and signal processing
• Basic computer skills for daily tasks
• Preferred: current or expired IPC 620, 610, 7711, 7721 or J-standard certification

Pay range: $48,100 - $86,950.
