Immigration Administrative Assistant

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an Immigration Administrative Assistant to support its Immigration Team in Spokane. You will work directly with clients, manage case files, and ensure accurate communication while upholding the IRC’s humanitarian mission.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of IRC case acceptance policies and eligibility criteria.
• Schedule appointments for immigration clients and send reminder communications.
• Answer phone calls, emails, and texts from clients, resolve routine inquiries, and log all interactions in the case management system.
• Open, process, and file USCIS/NVC correspondence in both electronic and physical case files.
• Scan, upload, and prepare clear copies of case‑related documents for internal use and USCIS filings.
• Strictly adhere to confidentiality rules and avoid unauthorized practice of law.
• Assist with additional tasks and projects as assigned by the Managing Attorney.

Required profile

• Bilingual proficiency in English and a major client language is highly preferred.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
