ICU Cardiology Night Shift Health Unit Coordinator

About the role

AdventHealth in Tampa is hiring a full-time night shift Health Unit Coordinator for its ICU Cardiology unit. The role supports the smooth operation of the department or unit and involves coordinating patient care and information across the floor.

Key responsibilities

• Perform other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or unit.
• Exemplify the core values of Keep Me Safe, Make It Easy, Love Me and Own It through behaviour.
• Notify and call other departments or physicians when necessary and place appropriate information on charts, forms, computers and electronic records.
• Access the medication room to place medications in a secure area upon arrival to the floor.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Recent hospital experience or similar experience as a health unit coordinator, such as in a medical office or outpatient clinic (required).
• Sufficient knowledge of English and spelling, neat and legible handwriting, and knowledge of medical terminology (all required).
• High school graduate or equivalent, or completion of a Health Unit Coordinator course (preferred).
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification (required).

Required skills

• Computer and typing skills (required).
• Organizational skills (required).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (preferred).
