ICM Caseworker – Intensive Case Management for Refugees

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) seeks a dedicated ICM Caseworker to provide strengths‑based, client‑centered case management for vulnerable refugee and asylum‑seeker populations. You will work directly with individuals and families to remove barriers to safety, health, and self‑sufficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Determine client eligibility for ICM programming and conduct comprehensive intake assessments.
• Develop individualized, SMART self‑sufficiency plans for each enrolled client.
• Monitor client progress every six months, adjusting plans and identifying new needs.
• Assist clients in navigating healthcare, social services, and benefits applications.
• Conduct community outreach and maintain a robust network of service providers.
• Collaborate with local and state refugee coordinators and health coordinators to ensure coordinated support.

Required profile

• Commitment to serving refugees, asylees, and other ORR‑eligible populations.
• Ability to work with diverse groups, including survivors of gender‑based violence, LGBTQ+ individuals, older adults, and persons with disabilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interaction and partnership building.
• Experience in case management, social services, or related humanitarian fields.

Required skills

• Familiarity with U.S. healthcare, benefits, and social service systems.
