IAM Intern - Early Careers (Cybersecurity)

About the role

HCSC offers a ten-week paid internship in Chicago, IL for its Identify & Access Management (IAM) program. The intern works closely with cross-functional business and technical teams, contributes to project work and helps develop solutions that meet organizational needs and support members. The internship includes a formal orientation, hands-on projects, weekly networking with company leaders, professional development workshops and volunteer activities.

Key responsibilities

• Own parts of project work and deliverables with guidance from an assigned mentor and manager.
• Research, analyze data and information, and develop recommendations that inform real business decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and support initiatives that improve business outcomes and the member and client experience.
• Develop and deliver a final internship presentation to department leadership covering the project, results and recommendations.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity and other compliance policies.

Required profile

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree, ideally in management information systems, information technology, information security or computer science; other majors may be considered.
• Rising senior with graduation between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Available for the full 10-week program and able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Flex employees must be in the office at least three days a week.

Required skills

• Practical PC skills, especially Office 365 and virtual collaboration tools such as MS Teams and SharePoint.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Clear verbal and written communication.
• Preferred: interest in cybersecurity, capture the flag or IT hacking competitions, and involvement in IT associations.

What we offer

• Base pay of $19.13 - $34.17, varying with skills, experience and location.
