Human Resources Generalist – HR Operations & Business Partner

About the role

Ford is seeking a versatile HR professional to act as a bridge between People First shared services and operational leaders in Southern California. The role combines HR Generalist, junior HR Business Partner, and HR Operations responsibilities, delivering both consultative support and technical process expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Support end‑to‑end performance management, guiding leaders on coaching, documentation, and case resolution.
• Partner with Employee Relations and managers to address inquiries and ensure consistent policy application.
• Provide basic leadership coaching on morale, retention, and engagement.
• Assist HRBP colleagues with workforce planning, annual people processes, and employee life‑cycle events.
• Serve as the California policy subject‑matter expert for leaves, final pay, and wage/hour regulations.
• Intake and prioritize high‑visibility HR inquiries such as payroll discrepancies and benefits escalations.
• Identify and improve systemic process bottlenecks in collaboration with Payroll, HR Technology, Recruiting, and other teams.
• Maintain HCM data integrity and conduct trend analysis using Excel, Oracle, and Visier.
• Participate in special projects including org‑design, position management, and data clean‑up.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3–5 years of HR experience, preferably in Generalist, Business Partner, or Shared Services roles.
• Strong knowledge of California‑specific HR regulations and policies.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguous situations and drive process improvements.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with Oracle HCM systems.
• Familiarity with Visier analytics platform.
