HSE Business Partner

About the role

Join APM Terminals, a global leader in port and terminal operations, as an HSE Business Partner. You will act as a trusted internal consultant, bringing health, safety and environmental expertise to operational and leadership decisions, and help embed safe behaviours into everyday work.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior managers and operational teams to embed HSE strategy, safe behaviours and best practices into business plans and daily operations.
• Support the development, implementation and maintenance of compliant HSE programmes, management systems, emergency plans, safety policies, SOPs and risk assessments.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks, monitor improvement plans and ensure controls are practical, understood, sustainable and consistently applied.
• Monitor contractor and vendor risk assessments, ensuring compliance with legislation and APM Terminals’ global HSE standards.
• Coach and support incident investigations, monitor corrective actions, share learning and help prevent recurrence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in health and safety, environmental engineering, environmental science, geology or a related field.
• Relevant HSE qualification such as NEBOSH National Diploma or General Certificate.
• 3‑5 years of senior‑level health and safety experience with a proven track record of delivering business objectives.
• Strong knowledge of local and global HSE regulations, hazard identification and risk management.
• Excellent influencing, negotiation, team leadership and stakeholder‑management skills, with proficiency in English.
