Housekeeper (Room Attendant) – Oyster Estate Hotel

About the role

We are preparing to open Oyster Estate, a new boutique hotel in Greenport, NY, slated for August 2026. We are seeking enthusiastic Housekeepers (Room Attendants) who are passionate about delivering a superior guest experience in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Strip and make beds, ensuring meticulous presentation.
• Clean all surfaces in guest rooms and public areas to meet health standards.
• Replenish linens, towels, amenities and other supplies.
• Transport and handle linens, towels, toiletries and cleaning equipment.
• Launder, iron and fold towels, linens and other items on‑site.
• Sort, count, inventory and store clean linens.
• Empty wastebaskets, clean ashtrays and dispose of waste properly.
• Restock drinking glasses, writing supplies and bathroom items.
• Move and arrange furniture as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of common areas and remove debris.
• Respond to guest inquiries and communicate relevant information.
• Report safety hazards, maintenance or repair needs to supervisors.
• Follow all applicable health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Ability to lift at least 40 lb and stand for the duration of a shift.
• Basic English proficiency.
• Willingness to work at any nearby property within walking distance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in using standard cleaning and laundry equipment.
