Hourly & Live-In Caregivers - San Francisco

About the role

IOA provides home care services to older adults and adults with disabilities across the Bay Area, working under the direction of Staffing and Client Service Managers. Home Care Aides deliver direct care in clients' homes, hospitals, day centers, skilled nursing facilities and community residential facilities. Flexible hours are available, including part-time, full-time, 12-hour shifts, short shifts, weekends and live-in positions.

Key responsibilities

• Bathing, dressing and personal care
• Meal preparation and medication reminders
• Errands and shopping
• Respite and companion engagement
• Light housekeeping and laundry
• Mobility and transfer assistance
• Pet care, Alzheimer and dementia care, Parkinson's care, hospice and other specialized care

Required profile

• Home Care Services Bureau (PER ID#) registration
• Livescan/fingerprinting clearance and a clean criminal background
• Tuberculosis clearance (skin test, X-ray or blood test)
• Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. (two I-9-compliant IDs such as driver's license, California ID, Social Security card or U.S. passport)
• English language proficiency is a must
• At least 1 year of non-medical experience caring for elderly or disabled adults or related caregiving experience
• Reliable, able to travel to client assignments by car or public transport, and able to lift 35 lbs or more with proper body mechanics

Required skills

• Desired: bilingual Tagalog, Spanish, Chinese or Russian
• Desired: CNA or HHA certification (not required)
• Desired: basic smartphone and computer skills
