Hourly & Live-In Caregivers - East Bay

About the role

IOA provides home care services to older adults and adults with disabilities in the East Bay, under the direction of Staffing and Client Service Managers. Home Care Aides give direct, non-medical support in clients' homes, with flexible schedules including part-time, full-time, 12-hour shifts, short shifts, weekends and live-in positions.

Key responsibilities

• Personal care such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting
• Driving or accompanying clients to shopping, errands or doctor's appointments
• Assisting with transfers, ambulation and exercise
• Meal preparation, including special diets and feeding assistance
• Light housekeeping, including vacuuming, dusting, laundry and linen changes
• Medication reminders and companionship

Required profile

• Home Care Services Bureau (PER ID#) registration
• Livescan/fingerprinting clearance and a clean criminal background
• Tuberculosis clearance (skin test, X-ray or blood test)
• Proof of eligibility to work in the U.S. (two I-9-compliant IDs, e.g. driver's license, California ID, SS card, US passport)
• English language proficiency is a must
• At least 1 year of non-medical experience caring for elderly or disabled adults
• Ability to lift 35 lbs or more and perform transfers, bending and reaching; training provided

Desired qualifications

• Bilingual in Tagalog, Spanish, Chinese or Russian
• CNA or HHA certification (highly desirable but not required)
• Basic computer skills (highly advantageous but not required)
• Students or retirees of LVN/RN backgrounds encouraged to apply

What we offer

• Pay range of $23-24 per hour, depending on experience, client needs and other factors
• Flexible hours, including live-in and weekend work
