Host – Guest Greeting & Service

About the role

The Host is the first point of contact for guests at River Lodge Paso, ensuring a warm welcome and smooth flow of service throughout the restaurant and pool area. This role combines guest interaction, reservation management, and support for both front‑of‑house and back‑of‑house operations.

Key responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and professionally at the entrance.
• Manage OpenTable reservations, answer phones, and provide wait‑time updates.
• Seat guests according to reservations and service flow, describing property history when needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining room, host stand, and surrounding areas.
• Adjust temperature controls (heat, fan, A/C, outdoor heaters) for guest comfort.
• Assist with bussing, polishing glassware, folding linens, and running food for large parties.
• Monitor guest experience, communicate special notes to servers, and alert management to any issues.
• Keep restaurant and pool bathrooms clean and report equipment problems.

Required profile

• Previous hospitality experience with a friendly, enthusiastic attitude.
• Ability to read, comprehend instructions, and communicate clearly.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and lift up to 25 lb.
• Must be at least 18 years old to serve alcohol.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the OpenTable reservation system.
