Host for Japanese Dining Experience

About the role

We are seeking a friendly and professional Host to welcome guests at Hiroki‑San, an immersive Japanese dining experience located in Detroit’s Book Tower. As the first point of contact, you will set the tone for a memorable visit by delivering warm hospitality and ensuring smooth service flow.

Key responsibilities

• Greet and welcome guests with genuine hospitality.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments.
• Maintain an organized host stand and uphold visual standards of the entry area.
• Communicate with the service team to support pacing and guest experience.
• Escort guests to tables, provide menus, and highlight notable offerings.
• Answer phone calls, assist with inquiries, and provide accurate restaurant information.
• Anticipate guest needs and resolve issues gracefully.
• Uphold all safety, sanitation, and service standards.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of experience in a host, guest services, or front‑of‑house role, preferably upscale or high‑volume.
• Strong communication skills and a polished, professional presence.
• Ability to multitask and stay composed in a fast‑paced environment.
• Warm, guest‑focused demeanor with a genuine passion for hospitality.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Required skills

• Familiarity with reservation platforms such as Resy or OpenTable.
