Hospital Security Professional (Part-Time)

About the role

Allied Universal is hiring a part-time Security Professional for a hospital in Hendersonville, Tennessee. The officer conducts unarmed foot and/or vehicle patrols inside and outside the facility, controls access and egress, monitors CCTV and alarm systems, writes reports and helps deter criminal activity and misconduct. Candidates must be able to submit to drug screening where permitted by law, and a TB test and some vaccinations may be required because the site is a healthcare facility.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol hospital grounds on foot or in a vehicle and document unusual conditions that could be a security concern or safety hazard
• Help hospital staff de-escalate situations involving patients and restrain combative individuals when necessary, within company and customer guidelines
• Transport patients to the morgue and assist in escorting patients from the helicopter pad to the emergency room
• Assist with evacuations during fires, medical emergencies and natural disasters
• Sound alarms or call police or fire departments when needed, and warn violators of rules such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden items
• Monitor entrances and exits, permit only authorized persons to enter and prevent contraband from entering or leaving
• Investigate incidents, prepare reports and maintain written logs

Required profile

• At least 6 months of security professional experience (the qualifications section also asks for at least 2 years of verifiable customer service or protective service experience)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license in line with Allied Universal policy
• Comfortable with morgue duty and with restraining combative individuals
• Able to accept a TB test and required vaccinations
• Must be at least 18 years old

Required skills

• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Good oral and written communication, problem-solving and attention to detail
• Ability to assess situations quickly and mediate conflicts tactfully

• Pay of $18 per hour
• Schedule: Sunday through Wednesday, 06:00 to 18:00, with Wednesday ending at 12:00
