About the role
The Illinois Department of Transportation is hiring temporary Snow Removal Operators for the 2026/2027 snow and ice season. The position is hourly, non-permanent and on-call, paid $27.79 per hour, and covers the period October 16 to April 15 depending on weather. There are six vacancies across the district.

Key responsibilities
- Perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair and upkeep of roads, bridges and other related structures and features.
- Work as a snow removal operator during the winter season, with work hours as needed and on-call.
Required profile
- Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the State does not provide visa sponsorship.
