Higher Education Specialist

About the role

Mercor is seeking a remote Higher Education Specialist to help improve the quality of AI‑generated mathematical content. You will work on a contract basis, collaborating with research teams to ensure that model outputs meet rigorous academic standards.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate the accuracy and depth of AI‑generated mathematics content to strengthen reasoning and rigor.
• Review complex mathematical material for alignment with domain principles and methodologies.
• Provide clear, structured feedback to AI research teams to improve training data quality and downstream performance.
• Develop evaluation rubrics and benchmarks for assessing AI‑generated mathematical tasks and solutions.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to ensure consistency, relevance, and coverage across datasets.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet deadlines while enhancing AI model performance.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in mathematics education or a related field.
• Proficiency in evaluating and improving AI models.
• Strong understanding of mathematical principles and methodologies.
