High School Science & Math Tutors

About the role

Prep Academy Tutors is seeking qualified high school science and math tutors to provide one‑on‑one academic support to students in grades 9‑12 throughout Northern Los Angeles. Tutors will help students build confidence, strengthen foundational knowledge, and master advanced concepts.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalized tutoring in mathematics and/or science at students' homes.
• Support subjects such as Algebra I & II, Geometry, Pre‑Calculus, Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Science.
• Assist with homework, study skills, executive functioning, and test preparation including AP courses and SAT/ACT content.
• Develop individualized learning plans based on each student’s goals.
• Monitor progress and deliver regular updates to families.
• Foster a positive, engaging learning environment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Science, Education, Engineering, or a related field.
• Valid California teaching credential or equivalent (highly preferred) or relevant tutoring experience.
• Experience teaching or tutoring high school mathematics and/or science.
• Strong knowledge of high school curriculum and instructional best practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Reliable transportation and authorization to work in the United States.
