High School Research Intern

About the role
The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis is offering a part‑time, on‑site internship for current high school students who are interested in economics. Over the academic year, the intern will work closely with a research economist, gaining exposure to economic research methods and the Bank’s policy work.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with statistical analysis of economic data.
- Conduct literature reviews and library research.
- Enter and manage data sets for ongoing projects.
- Attend Research Department seminars and meet with economists.
- Support the preparation of research briefs and presentations.
Required profile
- High school student who has completed or plans to complete economics coursework.
- Demonstrated interest in economics and research.
- Working towards a high school diploma.
- Ability to commit 6‑10 hours per week during business hours.
Required skills
- Statistical analysis
