Healthcare Risk Management Specialist – Data Analyst 1

About the role

The University of Miami’s Office of Risk Management is seeking a full‑time Healthcare Risk Management Specialist (Data Analyst 1) to support data‑driven decision‑making across the health system. The role focuses on basic data analysis, maintaining databases and dashboards, and ensuring data accuracy for internal planning and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform basic statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, and data mining on healthcare risk data.
• Research best practices and develop recommendations to improve business operations.
• Generate reports and analyze data for internal planning, reporting, and decision support.
• Maintain and update databases and dashboards that align with departmental goals.
• Identify trends or patterns in data sets and communicate findings.
• Validate data accuracy and report any issues to management.
• Adhere to university policies and safeguard institutional assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant data‑analysis experience.
• Health Data Analyst certification, Power BI proficiency, and/or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
• Strong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
