Healthcare Operations Manager

About the role

The Healthcare Operations Manager will oversee daily operations across multiple service lines and two locations for a Maryland‑based mental health and rehabilitation center. This remote, full‑time contractor position bridges leadership and frontline teams to ensure efficient workflows, regulatory compliance, and high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operational workflows to optimize patient throughput and reduce administrative errors.
• Supervise service line operations (IOP, MAT, PRP, OMHC) and enforce CARF accreditation standards.
• Maintain and improve SOPs for intake, front‑desk, and patient discharge processes.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
• Monitor revenue‑cycle impacting processes such as intake accuracy and authorization timelines.
• Oversee routine operational expenses, supply ordering, vendor coordination, and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, ACHC, CARF, and internal standards; maintain audit readiness.
• Lead a team of ~27 staff across two sites, serving as primary escalation point for operational issues.

Required profile

• Hands‑on, strategic leader with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain compliance with healthcare accreditation and privacy regulations.
• Strong analytical mindset for workflow analysis and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate between clinical and administrative staff.
