Healthcare Fraud Investigator

About the role

Ardelle Associates is seeking a detail‑oriented Healthcare Fraud Investigator to support the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Detroit. The role involves conducting investigations into alleged fraud involving federal health‑care programs and providing actionable intelligence to prosecutors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop an understanding of relevant federal, state and local statutes to guide investigations.
• Analyze public records, governmental databases and other sources to identify potential violations.
• Assist Assistant United States Attorneys by identifying witnesses, drafting subpoenas, reviewing documents and conducting interviews.
• Produce interview reports, spreadsheets, status updates and recommendations.
• Utilize forensic services, coordinate surveillance, secure and preserve evidence.
• Obtain and analyze financial records and asset information using electronic databases and investigative tools.
• Develop human sources and maintain relationships with law‑enforcement agencies across Michigan and neighboring jurisdictions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, criminal justice or a related field.
• Residence within 50 miles of the Detroit U.S. Attorney’s Office.
• Minimum five years of experience in fraud investigation or a similar role.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a background investigation adjudication.
• Valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle.
• Ability to make responsible decisions on short notice.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
