Health and Benefits Summer Internship 2027 - Washington DC

About the role

Marsh People and Investments is looking for a summer intern for its Health and Benefits team, part of the People and Investments business. The internship is based in Washington DC and is hybrid, with at least three days a week in the office. It runs from Monday, June 7th to Friday, August 13th, 2027, with no alternate start or end dates.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and analyze healthcare claims and utilization data, including cost projections and evaluations
• Support the Request for Proposal (RFP) process on behalf of clients
• Assist senior consultants in reviewing client needs, identifying approaches and supporting implementation strategies
• Model employee benefit contributions to help meet employer objectives
• Help prepare client deliverables such as reports, spreadsheets and presentations
• Support the National Survey of Employer-Sponsored Health Plans to create benchmarks of employer health and benefits plans

Required profile

• Progress toward a bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, statistics, economics, health administration, health policy or a related major
• Currently enrolled in a college or university with an expected graduation date of Fall 2027 or Spring 2028
• Preferred minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0
• Permanent, ongoing U.S. work authorization without the need for sponsorship
• Availability for the full internship period, Monday June 7th through Friday August 13th

Required skills

• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of data analysis, project management and presentation design
• Excellent communication, organizational and attention-to-detail skills
