About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is hiring a Health Aide/Safety Monitor for the Admissions Unit at Georgia Regional Hospital – Atlanta in Decatur. The role supports a safe environment by screening patients for contraband and monitoring interactions.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect all patients entering the Admissions Area to ensure they are free of contraband.
• Monitor patient activity within the Admissions Unit and intervene to prevent negative interactions.
• Promote a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience in mental health, medical, or related direct‑care settings (or six months experience plus prior work as a Health Aide 1).
• Experience working with forensic patients or individuals with substance‑use or mental‑health disabilities.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass state and national background checks.
