Health Aide 2 – Georgia Department of Behavioral Health

About the role

The Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Health Aide 2 to provide basic patient care at Georgia Regional Hospital – Atlanta in Decatur. This position supports patients in daily living activities, vital sign monitoring, and overall comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, grooming, dressing, and feeding.
• Take and record vital signs, administer medications and treatments as directed.
• Transport clients to treatment areas using wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Facilitate recreational and social activities.
• Observe, document, and report patient behavior and condition.
• Prepare clients for examinations and support mobility and exercise.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least six months of direct‑care experience or recent related military service.
• One year of experience at the Health Aide 1 level or equivalent.
• Ability to pass state and national background checks.

Required skills

• Basic computer proficiency.
