Header Welder – 2nd Shift

About the role

As a Header Welder on the 2nd shift you will perform grinding, chipping, and various welding processes to fabricate or repair metal components according to blueprints, layouts or work orders.

Key responsibilities

• Read blueprints and instructions to understand weld procedures, header layout, and plate thickness.
• Operate MIG welding machines to weld headers.
• Use oxy‑acetylene torches to pre‑heat heads and cut attachment openings.
• Perform layout and fit‑up of non‑ASME code water‑jacket headers.
• Complete preventive‑maintenance checklists and routine machine maintenance.
• Provide required materials to workstations and operate crane/hoist for loading and unloading heads.
• Assist the Team Lead or Manager with tasks and train others as needed.
• Cross‑train in other areas, maintain a clean work area, and follow all safety policies.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED with relevant experience; must pass a Pulmonary Function Test if working on stainless steel.
• Minimum 1 year of professional manufacturing experience (industry experience preferred).
• Basic math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints.
• At least 1 year of experience using MIG and flux‑core welding and oxy‑acetylene/sub‑arc torches (preferred).
• Successful completion of the G Welder test.
• Overhead crane and hoist experience preferred.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
