Head of Tendering & Contracts (MEP)

About the role

The company is seeking an experienced Tendering & Contracts Manager to lead its MEP tendering department. You will take over from a retiring manager, overseeing the full cycle from opportunity identification to contract signature, directly influencing job awards and pricing accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, guide and review a team of 5 Mechanical and Electrical Engineers preparing MEP tenders.
• Ensure tender pricing is accurate and aligns with actual project costs.
• Identify and pursue new high‑rise residential and commercial project opportunities.
• Prepare, review and finalise FIDIC‑based contracts while managing contractual risk.
• Lead client negotiations through to award and sign‑off, building long‑term relationships with clients, consultants and main contractors.
• Take full ownership of the tendering department within the first 3–6 months, working alongside the outgoing manager.
• Report tender pipeline, win rate and estimate accuracy to the General Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• Minimum 15 years of MEP construction experience with a strong track record in tendering and contracts.
• Extensive exposure to high‑rise residential and commercial projects.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate contracts, especially FIDIC conditions.
• Experience leading client discussions and negotiations to contract award.
• Leadership experience managing engineers or estimators.
• Career stability (at least 4 years with current or previous employer) and strong client references.
• Fluent in Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
