Head of Construction & Facilities Management

About the role

The Head of Construction & Facilities Management leads all physical operations for AmFirst, shaping strategy and policies that cover design, planning, construction, and ongoing maintenance of the credit union’s facilities. This senior leader works closely with senior management, vendors, contractors, and suppliers to ensure that every location operates efficiently and complies with all relevant codes and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall facilities strategy, including design, construction, renovation, and maintenance of all properties.
• Monitor construction and remodel projects to ensure adherence to cost, schedule, and contract requirements.
• Oversee the acquisition, upkeep, and performance of major facility systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and landscaping.
• Manage the facilities budget, prepare cost estimates, track expenditures, and justify investments.
• Lead vendor selection, negotiate pricing, and ensure compliance with vendor management policies.
• Coordinate maintenance activities, prioritize projects, and verify that completed work meets specifications and regulatory standards.
• Assess future site locations and plan remodeling initiatives for existing branches.
• Supervise hiring, training, performance reviews, and resource allocation for the facilities team.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in construction, facilities management, or related fields, preferably within a financial services environment.
• Proven ability to lead large, cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects from concept to completion.
• Strong budgeting, cost‑control, and financial analysis skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities with internal stakeholders and external partners.
