Head of Capital Formation

About the role

Alliance, an accelerator for crypto and fintech founders that has backed 300+ startups since 2020, is hiring a Head of Capital Formation in New York City (onsite only, no remote work). The role owns fundraising for Alliance's venture funds end to end: strategy, pipeline, LP relationships and close, reporting directly to a General Partner.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute the capital formation plan across institutional allocators (fund of funds, family offices, endowments, wealth management platforms, sovereign wealth) and HNWIs, sourcing, pitching and closing.
• Own lead sourcing, qualification and pipeline management, bringing prospects to the General Partners and running them through to signed commitments.
• Serve as the main point of contact for prospective LPs, communicating strategy, track record and edge, and owning the deck, data room and investor materials.
• Build long-term relationships with existing and prospective allocators and turn LPs into repeat LPs.
• Work with the GPs on fund positioning, sizing, timing and the long-term investor relations plan.

Required profile

• 5+ years raising for venture, private equity, private credit or hedge funds, with closed commitments from institutional investors and HNWIs; venture fund experience strongly preferred.
• An existing allocator network with warm relationships with fund of funds, family offices, consultants and HNWIs (must have).
• 2+ years in crypto, fintech or tech, able to hold their own with allocators on the thesis.
• Frequent travel, including to San Francisco and internationally; must be able to live in New York.
• Strong qualifications (nice to have): raised for an emerging manager or early fund, relationships with crypto-native or AI-focused allocators, prior placement agent or in-house IR experience at a venture firm.

• Clear communication, negotiation, professionalism and discretion.
• Self-driven, entrepreneurial, with high agency.
