Hardware Systems Performance Architect – Infotainment

About the role

Join the joint venture of Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies as a Hardware Systems Performance Architect focused on infotainment. You will lead the characterization of low‑voltage electrical (LVE) subsystems in electric vehicles, shaping hardware architecture decisions from early development through validation.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with hardware architecture, design, and software teams to develop comprehensive performance characterization plans.
• Translate high‑level functional and performance requirements into clear subsystem architecture metrics.
• Design, integrate, and automate validation activities across prototype boards, bench‑top mock‑ups, lab cars, and HIL infrastructure.
• Orchestrate end‑to‑end development of data acquisition pipelines, control systems, and downstream data processing for performance analysis.
• Execute characterization plans, analyze results, and produce validation reports to support data‑driven architectural decisions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in hardware architecture and systems performance analysis for automotive or similar high‑complexity domains.
• Strong understanding of low‑voltage electrical systems and their interaction with infotainment, telematics, wireless connectivity, and sensor subsystems.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and drive technical decisions through data‑backed insights.
