Hardware In The Loop Integration Test Engineer

About the role

Amentum is looking for a Hardware In The Loop (HiL) Integration Test Engineer to support vehicle, system and sub-system testing. The role covers developing HiL applications, managing HiL technology selection and integration, and supporting Ford engineers and technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Develop HiL applications to support vehicle, system and sub-system testing.
• Manage and direct the design, evaluation, selection and integration of HiL technologies, and take part in HiL technical architecture decisions.
• Upgrade and diagnose test stand infrastructure and integrate HiL control strategies into existing mechanical test systems.
• Work with Ford engineers and technicians to ensure test systems and data integrity are properly supported.
• Develop and implement test automation for test setup, execution, data collection and reporting.
• Help define new equipment specifications and present business cases and project documentation to upper management.

Required profile

• BS in Engineering; BS or higher in ME/EE preferred.
• Previous experience with dSPACE, Vector CANoe / CANalyzer and LabVIEW.
• Knowledge of electronics and electrical instrumentation, including signal conditioning (transducers, accelerometers).
• Knowledge of automotive technologies, laboratory/testing environments and test and measurement technologies.
• Expertise integrating HiL control systems with third-party actuators, PLCs and similar devices.
• Leadership, communication and teamwork skills, ability to work under pressure and solve problems creatively.

Required skills

• dSPACE, Vector CANoe / CANalyzer, LabVIEW
• HiL programming and integration with test and measurement systems
• Preferred: deploying real-time data acquisition on Windows, dSPACE and Vector CANoe / CANalyzer
