Group Facilitator – Substance Use Disorder Treatment

About the role

CRI‑Help is seeking a compassionate Group Facilitator to lead therapeutic and educational groups for clients with substance use disorders. You will work on‑site at our North Hollywood location, delivering evidence‑based interventions and documenting client progress daily.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate client‑centered group sessions using Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and 12‑step principles.
• Write individualized group notes that reflect fidelity to the evidence‑based practices employed.
• Complete additional tasks assigned by the Program Manager, including occasional work at other county sites.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; certification with a state‑approved addiction counselor entity (e.g., CADTP, CAADE, CCAPP) or master’s level BBS registration.
• Prior experience facilitating groups or a willingness to learn on the job.
• Ability to undergo random drug screenings.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques.
• Knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques.
• Familiarity with the 12‑step programs of AA/NA.
• Proficient reading and writing skills in English.
