Grounds Technician

About the role

TTI Consumer Power Tools, Inc. is hiring a Grounds Technician for its Anderson, SC location, supporting a large-scale distribution-manufacturing campus. The role covers turf, plant and hardscape maintenance, equipment upkeep and occasional help to the operations team.

Key responsibilities

• Turf maintenance: mowing, trimming and edging
• Plant maintenance: shrub pruning, tree trimming and seasonal cut-back
• Bed maintenance: weed pulling/spraying and mulch installation
• Hardscape maintenance: removing debris and trash from sidewalks, parking lots and roadways
• Landscape installation projects such as sod install and planting
• Inclement weather work: storm debris removal and snow/ice clean-up
• Equipment maintenance: changing and charging batteries, sharpening blades, checking tires, helping change engine oils and fluids
• Cleaning and organizing the equipment shop and truck
• Aiding the operations team occasionally and performing other assigned duties

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• At least one year of experience operating on a crew of groundskeepers or landscape technicians
• Valid South Carolina driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• No final warnings, no more than 6 attendance points, and efficiency and quality goals met in the previous 3 months
• Currently in the same role for 6+ months
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse field conditions

Required skills

• Understanding and following written and oral instructions
• Use of tools, motorized equipment, tractors, pickup trucks and common grounds maintenance equipment
• Computer literacy
• Knowledge of grounds maintenance principles, safety and accident prevention, horticulture and landscape maintenance
