Grocery Delivery Driver

About the role

Hy-Vee is hiring a Delivery Driver for its Spring Lake Park grocery store. The driver provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service, delivers products to customers and keeps the delivery vehicle clean inside and out. The position reports to the District Store Director and the store manager.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly, learn their names and treat them as the most important people in the store
• Deliver products, collect payment and make change when necessary
• Return payments and beginning cash to the store
• Maintain food and groceries at proper temperatures according to food safety standards
• Follow company policies on personal hygiene, dress and store guidelines
• Report to work on schedule and assist in other store areas or special projects as needed
• Maintain and keep up the delivery vehicle

Required profile

• No specific education required
• Valid driver's license with no DOT restrictions and age 18 or older to drive a company vehicle
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 25 pounds frequently, and to climb stairs and rough terrain
• Willingness to work in conditions with dust, noise, temperature extremes and a fast pace

Required skills

• Good verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to solve problems and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions

The anticipated starting hourly wage is $13.50 to $16.80 depending on experience. Employment is contingent on passing a pre-employment drug screen.
