Grid Components Product Specialist

About the role

ABB is hiring a Grid Components Product Specialist in Pinetops, NC, reporting to the Product Specialist Lead. The role supports the leader in optimising the offering portfolio and return on investment, turning market requirements into offering specifications and development activities, and covers the full offering lifecycle including development, launch, maintenance, pricing and profitability. The work is onsite in Pinetops, with some hybrid opportunities in the future.

Key responsibilities

• Own Outdoor Products, including cutouts, switches, fuses and VersaRupter.
• Follow global or assigned-area standards, market and customer requirements and their impact on the offering portfolio.
• Assess market size and trends, run competitor analysis, identify offering gaps and evaluate ABB's position.
• Ensure technical solutions are used across the product group to the maximum extent.
• Manage the technical specification of the assigned products and support the Product Specialist Lead in developing business cases for developments, maintenance and cost reduction.
• Follow major warranty cases and quality cost drivers and ensure quick resolution.
• Collect and analyse standards, market requirements and customer needs as inputs for a product roadmap.
• Support the global Product Specialist Lead with business cases for development projects or offering transfers.
• Prepare offering market communication materials, including support for new offering launches.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 2+ years of experience in a related field.
• Expertise in product support and customer-facing positions.
• Experience with quotes, proposals and resolving customer concerns.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.

Required skills

• Well-versed experience with SAP, Excel and MRP systems is a plus.
