Graduate Teaching Assistant – Chemistry

About the role

The Chemistry Department at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock seeks a 9‑month Graduate Teaching Assistant. The assistant will support undergraduate instruction by teaching assigned chemistry courses and laboratories while pursuing graduate studies and research.

Key responsibilities

• Teach assigned chemistry courses and laboratory sections as directed by the Chemistry Program.
• Prepare and deliver instructional materials, including lectures, lab manuals, and assessments.
• Assist students during laboratory sessions, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Grade assignments, labs, and exams in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from an accredited institution.
• Admission to a graduate degree program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock or good standing with the Graduate School.
• Ability to commit to a 20‑hour per week workload (approximately 50 % full‑time).
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with undergraduate students.
