GME Coordinator 2 – Graduate Medical Education

About the role

The University of Miami’s Department of Surgery is seeking a full‑time GME Coordinator 2 to support its residency and fellowship programs. The role provides administrative support to program directors, residents and fellows while ensuring compliance with ACGME standards.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily administrative operations for one or more residency or fellowship programs.
• Coordinate recruitment activities, including interview scheduling and candidate tracking for the NRMP match.
• Onboard new residents/fellows by arranging orientations, confirming lecturers and tracking attendance.
• Maintain resident management systems, demographic data, schedules, duty‑hour reports and ERAS program information.
• Prepare and submit required reports to ACGME, GMEC and other stakeholders.
• Act as liaison among faculty, residents, medical students, lecturers and external partners.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of relevant administrative experience.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Experience handling confidential information with discretion.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights and weekends as needed.
• Commitment to university core values and ability to work independently or collaboratively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Advanced Excel skills for data tracking and reporting.
