Global Technical and Process Development Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Global Technical and Process Development Manager to lead process innovation for Superabsorbent Polymer (SAP) production within BASF’s Petrochemical division. Based in Freeport, Texas, the role bridges laboratory research and large‑scale manufacturing at our Freeport and Camacari sites.

Key responsibilities

• Lead global initiatives to advance kneader technology and drive process innovation.
• Manage operations of the ORP‑10 laboratory and provide lab support to the global team.
• Scale laboratory and pilot‑plant learnings to world‑scale plants in Freeport (TX) and Camacari (Brazil), ensuring alignment with production standards.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and customer‑facing teams to introduce new products profitably and sustainably.
• Offer on‑demand technical guidance to manufacturing units to optimize process performance and quality.
• Develop and disseminate technical knowledge across the SAP community through training, coaching, and documentation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in technical and process development within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
• Strong track record of scaling laboratory concepts to commercial production.
• Ability to work across global teams and communicate technical solutions effectively.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability standards.
