About the role
We are seeking a Global Product Support Specialist for Sandvik’s Rotary Drilling division in Alachua, FL. The specialist will serve as the technical point of contact for our worldwide sales and service teams, providing on‑site expertise for advanced surface‑mining drill rigs. The role involves travel to mine sites across multiple continents and requires hands‑on problem solving to keep equipment operating at peak performance.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver timely technical support for rotary drilling equipment at customer sites worldwide.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical/control‑system issues, including calibration, software installation and firmware updates.
- Lead on‑site commissioning, Site Acceptance Testing and new product introductions.
- Configure drill control‑system software and machine parameters using Sandvik service tools.
- Provide classroom and mine‑site training to frontline teams, product masters, technicians and customers.
- Conduct root‑cause failure analysis and collaborate with product engineering to resolve field issues.
- Participate in Continuous Product Improvement reviews with technical support, engineering, sales and manufacturing.
- Advise on spare‑parts lists, warranty recommendations and maintain technical documentation.
Required profile
- U.S. work authorization for a full‑time, indefinite position (no sponsorship).
- Minimum 10 years of technical experience supporting heavy mobile equipment, with at least 5 years directly related to drilling or comparable surface‑mining equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or Mining Engineering, or an equivalent trade/technical qualification combined with extensive field experience.
- Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of delivering field support and driving product improvements.
