Global Head of Biostatistics

About the role

Roche is looking for a Global Head of Biostatistics to lead a global team of about 100-125 biostatistics professionals focused on late-stage development. The role reports to the Global Head, PD Data Sciences & Analytics (PD-DSA) and shapes the Biostatistics strategy across all therapeutic areas, integrating study design, data analysis and insights generation. The position is open in South San Francisco, Boston, Basel, Welwyn and Mississauga.

Key responsibilities

• Set the PD-DSA strategy and goals, embedding the Data, Digital/AI and Design (3Ds) imperatives across teams' workflows
• Lead five therapeutic area-aligned Biostatistics Leaders and their teams, ensuring biostatistics is integrated early in study designs and aligned with regulatory and scientific best practices
• Partner with clinical development, regulatory affairs and data science teams, and represent Biostatistics in industry forums and regulatory discussions
• Champion AI, digital and advanced statistical methodologies while maintaining GCP and regulatory compliance
• Build a high-performing team, define performance metrics and recruit top biostatistical talent

Required profile

• PhD or other advanced degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or Mathematics
• More than 15 years of experience at a senior level in pharma/biotech, with molecule and molecule-enabling strategy focus
• Deep knowledge of GCP, international and in-country regulations and data/statistical compliance standards
• Understanding of the end-to-end drug development lifecycle, high-dimensional data and AI/digital trends
• Track record of building internal and external partnerships, strong English, and 20% international travel

What we offer

• Salary range of $338,240 - $443,940 for the South San Francisco location, with actual pay depending on experience and location
