General Superintendent (12-month contract)

About the role

The General Superintendent will oversee day‑to‑day on‑site administrative and construction processes for all field‑related activities on a 12‑month contract in Long Beach, CA. The role ensures contractual completion across multiple disciplines, drives safety performance, and coordinates with clients, subcontractors, and municipal authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily on‑site administration and construction activities for electrical, mechanical, civil, instrumentation and controls disciplines.
• Lead field meetings covering safety, coordination and schedule updates.
• Enforce project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules and client specifications.
• Review and audit safety documentation such as Pre‑Task Analyses (PTAs) and Task Safety Observations (TSOs).
• Provide accurate performance feedback and develop client and subcontractor relationships.
• Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to resolve field engineering items and implement Project Execution Plans.
• Oversee progress tracking, critical path scheduling, and construction documentation turnover.
• Supervise compliance with the Quality Management System and oversee craft supervision and staffing.

Required profile

• Proven experience supervising multi‑discipline construction projects on site.
• Strong knowledge of construction safety standards and documentation.
• Ability to interface with clients, municipal authorities and subcontractors.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills for leading meetings and reporting.
