GED Examiner

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a GED Examiner to support the testing operations at Augusta Technical College. You will play a key role in ensuring a smooth, secure, and professional testing experience for candidates pursuing their GED certification.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare the testing center before candidates arrive, including equipment setup and sanitization.
• Check‑in candidates, verify identification, and explain exam procedures.
• Proctor both electronic and paper‑based GED exams, monitoring candidates to maintain test integrity.
• Troubleshoot technical issues in collaboration with the IT department, Pearson VUE, and ETS sponsors.
• Complete post‑exam documentation, incident reports, and maintain confidentiality of results.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
• Pass the Pearson VUE Test Certification exam.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to correctional facilities as needed.
• At least two years of related experience or experience using computers in an educational or office setting.

Required skills

• Software installation and maintenance.
• Hardware and network troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with computer‑based testing platforms (e.g., Pearson VUE).
