About the role

The Nursing Department at UHealth Tower is seeking a Full‑Time Unit Secretary (U) to provide administrative support for an assigned unit, maintain patient records, and ensure smooth daily operations in compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and functional nursing station and greet patients, families, and visitors courteously.
• Answer telephone calls before the fourth ring, take messages, and transfer calls using hospital scripting.
• Assemble admission charts within 15 minutes of patient arrival and prepare welcome packets and folders.
• Complete clean‑room checklists, ensure proper documentation for patient transfers, and maintain appropriate logs.
• Monitor and restock supplies, follow infection‑control and OSHA guidelines, and adhere to all departmental policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of one year of relevant unit secretary or similar administrative experience.
