About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Social Worker with a Master of Social Work (MSW) to provide comprehensive social services to patients and their families. The role focuses on counseling, care planning, and advocacy within a hospital setting.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and adjust patient discharge plans.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical, mental health, and family dynamics.
• Document all relevant information in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Connect patients and families to community resources and support services.
• Act as an advocate and liaison among patients, physicians, insurers, and external agencies.
• Educate patients and families about medical recommendations and facilitate adherence.
• Provide clinical supervision and guidance to junior social workers.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW).
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of patient-centered care and ethical standards.
