Full‑Time Pharmacist – Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center

About the role

The University of Miami seeks a full‑time Staff Pharmacist to join the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, you will ensure safe, appropriate, and cost‑effective medication use for oncology patients while supporting the centralized IV admixture program.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise the centralized intravenous admixture program, focusing on chemotherapy preparation and total parenteral nutrition.
• Review physician orders and patient profiles to prevent drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
• Prepare, compound, and dispense sterile IV medications, controlled substances, and outpatient prescriptions.
• Maintain accurate drug inventory, emergency stock, and controlled‑substance records.
• Provide drug information to clinicians and patients and participate in drug‑use evaluations and quality‑improvement activities.

Required profile

• Pharm.D. degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• Current Florida pharmacy licensure in good standing.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant pharmacy experience, preferably in an acute‑care or oncology setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems and related software.
• Experience in sterile compounding and intravenous admixture preparation.
• Knowledge of controlled‑substance handling and security procedures.
• Ability to assess drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications.
