Full‑Time Hematology/Oncology Pharmacist

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a full‑time Pharmacist specialized in Hematology/Oncology to join the UHealth Tower team. The pharmacist will compound, dispense, and manage oncology medications while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain procedures for mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals according to policy and legal requirements.
• Compound and dispense medications prescribed by physicians and dentists, calculating and measuring ingredients accurately.
• Assess medication identity, strength, and purity; review prescriptions for accuracy and suitability.
• Provide drug interaction, side‑effect, dosage, and storage counseling to patients and staff.
• Maintain pharmacy records, inventory, and controlled‑substance registries, including radioactive nuclei and narcotics.
• Analyze prescribing trends to monitor patient compliance and prevent harmful interactions.

Required profile

• PharmD degree.
• Active pharmacist license.
• At least one year of relevant pharmacy experience, preferably in oncology.
• Ability to analyze information, follow instructions independently, and convey information effectively.
